About

The title is a play on the scientific name for Swiss chard (which is in the beet family), Beta vulgaris, var cicla.

It's meant to be a boring, personal journal.

Currently taken over by wedding planning.

I ruined my copy of Sass and Sorcery today, but on the upside I can probably commission someone local on Etsy to turn something from it into a pendant or some other lovely thing.

Picked up Saga the other day, but am still waiting on Rat Queens.

Books

I’m looking forward to two trades from Image coming out this month:

  • Saga, Vol. 3 - March 19
  • Rat Queens, Vol. 1 - March 26

Second volume of Lazarus is out next month, but I need to finish the first one. I also need to cull my library here, both for shelf space and monetary reasons.

Just washed down my first dose of citalopram with a side of spiced rooibos. I’m worried about how this decision will affect my future.

Cooking dinner. Tonight it’ll be Lentil-a-Roni from Isa Does It and maybe some pizza if I can find suitable ingredients in the kitchen.

Frozen hair, but too fabulous to care. Selfie taken on the walk back from the treadmill. One of my goals this year is aerobic exercise. I’m debating whether or not to even weigh myself, because I’m doing it for my heart, not my shape or size.
R’s suggestion for January was to get to a comfortable, nonstop 10-minute mile. It took about a week to get consistent (my standard way of running was to sprint, quickly exhaust myself, and fuel myself with rage from there). The goalpost will get moved, but for now I’m proud of myself.

I don’t want to disappoint the few followers I have. I’ll likely post a few wedding pictures, but the blog won’t really be about this anymore. I just want it to be my happy place. I’ll try not to get too texty (already have a side blog set up), but no promises.

AAaah. Our photographer has begun putting some pictures of the wedding up on her Facebook page! It’s exciting and I’m getting a little self-conscious, but it’s amazing.

We’ve come a long way
And baby
You know i hope and i pray
That you believe me
